family at the Mountain house are experienced in trekking, and offer

package trek or organised group trek, the family can help you.
One of the family members of the Mountain house (Raju) is an
excellent trekking guide for eight years in this Annapurna region.
Raju has hold a license from His Majestic Government of Nepal. If he
is not available to be your guide, he knows some of the other
reliable guides, all of whom hold licenses from HMG as well. Raju
can assist you with finding a group, or setting out to do it on your
won – permits, guides, porters, hiring of trekking equipment and
suggestions on treks.
Pokhara is a
starting point to one of the most famous trekking areas in the world
known as the Annapurna region. The treks lasting from one day to
three weeks are possible in the area. Some of the famous treks are
as follows:
Pokhara-Dhampus-Sarangkot-Pokhara:( 2 -3
days)
This trek to the scenic
Gurung village of Dhampus mesmerizes our guests because of the
spectacular view of the Himalaya ranges and this is the best spot
to see Machhapuchhre in the shape of A Fish Tail. The village of Sarangkot (1590m) is situated on the top of a hillock just north of
Phewa Lake. One gets to see beautiful views of sunrise and sunset
from Sarangkot as the sun splashes hues of red on the Himalaya
range. On a clear day, the panoramic ranges of Annapurna ,
Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and Ganesh Himal can be observed from here.
It is world’s famous paragliding spot too.
Poon hill trek: (4 -5 days)
This trek starts from
Birethanti on the Pokhara-Baglung road and continues to Ghandruk, a
beautiful village of Gurung people. From the village you can see a
closer view of the Annapurna’s south peak. The famous part of this
trek is Pun Hill, which is known as world's best view point to see
sunrise and sunset with more than fifteen mountain peeks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Pun hill is situated at an altitude
of 3200m, it is the highest altitude of your Pun hill trek. The
village of Ghorepani is just below Pun hill and inhabited by Magars. From Ghorepani you can come down to Birethanti to end your
trek.
Annapurna Base camp trek: (10 -12 days)

This 10 -12 days trek around
the spectacular Annapurna region brings you through scenic villages,
rich oak, pine and national flower rhododendron forest, right into
the magical Annapurna Base Camp. Here, you will be overwhelmed by
the close-up views of the giant snow peaks, Annapurna 1st (8091m),
Annapurna 3rd (7555m) Gangapurna (7454m),
Machhapuchhre(6997m), Annapurna south, Himchuli and Tent peak. This
trekking is recommended for excellent mountain vistas. It is nice to
see sunrise and sunset from Annapurna Base Camp.
Annapurna Circuit trek: ( 18 – 20 days)
The Annapurna Circuit is the
most popular 300-kilometer trek in Nepal, around the Annapurna
mountain range in the Himalaya. This trek reaches an altitude of
5416m on the Thorung La pass. The panoramic magnificence of mountain
ranges that can be viewed from here include Annapurna, the
spectacular ice pyramid Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Machhapuchhre
considered to be one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.
This trek follows ancient paths used as trade routes between Nepal
and Tibet. These paths have long facilitated the flow of culture and
religion. Even today, Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism, Hinduism and the
pre-Buddhist Bon-Po religion coexists and interpenetrates one
another in this region. The unusually wide range of climatic zones
in this small area provides an opportunity to watch different flora
and fauna, at the same time, the diverse lifestyle of people
residing in this region.
Jomsom – Muktinath trek (10 – 14 days)
Jomsom is the only place
along the Annapurna circuit, which is connected by air with Pokhara
and Kathmandu. It is also the district headquarters of Mustang,
which includes part of the legendary Mustang and the Muktinath
reigon. Trekking to Muktinath begins from Jomsom
if you first fly to
here. On the way to Muktinath it’s worth visiting to the village of
Kagbeni, a Tibetan influenced settlement close to Lo Manthang, the
capital of what used to be the old principality of Mustang. From
here, the trail climbs steeply to rejoin the regular trail before
Khingar is reached. A further climb brings you through an old
village Jharkot to Ranipauwa, the accommodation area of Muktinath, at
3800m. Muktinath is a pilgrimage centre for Buddhists and Hindus. The
shrines include a Buddhist Gompa and the Vishnu temple of Jwala Mai.
An old temple nearby shelter spring and natural gas jets, which
provide Muktinath with the famous eternal flame. From Muktinath you
can continue your trek to Pokhara or if you have short time you can
catch a flight back to Pokhara from Jomsom again.
Dhaulagiri circuit trek: ( 2 weeks)
A trek around Dhaulagiri
(8167m), the 7th highest peak in the world, is considerd
“A pioneering trek around the ice pyramid
Dhaulagiri Massif!” It’s
a demanding and remote wilderness tek that completes a challenging
circuit around the massif. You start your trek from Beni across the
kali Gandaki valley, crossing two high passes called French pass
(5360m) and Dhampus pass (5182m), then down to Jomsom to finish.
This trek you can only do with camping because there are not many
tea houses along the trek.
